What is this hashtag and how did it become so powerful...

MORE THAN A HASHTAG...

Black Lives Matter is a worldwide political movement committed to combating racism and anti-Black violence, particularly in the form of police brutality. It was founded in the United States in 2013. The name Black Lives Matter is a protest against unjust violence against black individuals and a request that society respect Black people's careers and humanity any more than it loves white people's lives and humanity.

Black Lives Matter is an anti-racist movement which has occurred in the United States for generations. Despite the fact that slavery was ended and African Americans now have the same rights as whites, racial injustice persists, as proven by the amount of defenseless Black citizens killed by White police officers.

The Black Lives Matter movement has shown to be successful in assisting victims of gun violence and excessive use of force. The movement has increased awareness of non-profit associations, which is also dedicated to reducing gun violence and police brutality inside the African american community.
